2021 Summer Financial Aid Request
  • Summer aid is usually limited to unused aid eligibility from the fall and spring semesters. Intersession classes cannot be combined with summer enrollment for Financial Aid purposes.
  • Pell Grants may be available to students who are taking at least six hours in summer, even if they received full-time Pell during fall and spring semesters.
  • If a Pell Grant-eligible student was enrolled part-time during the fall and/or spring semesters, unused Pell funds may be available for the summer semester.
  • A minimum of six hours of enrollment is required to receive a student loan.
  • Students must continue to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress standards to maintain eligibility for Financial Aid. Dropping or failing a course while receiving aid could result in Financial Aid Suspension for future terms.
  • The Financial Aid Office will determine eligibility for federal grants and loans for the summer term. Please navigate to LioNet for the 2020-21 academic year to accept/reduce/decline your aid offers.
  • To inquire about Federal Work-Study funding for Summer, please contact studentemployment@mssu.edu or 417-625-9398 to discuss your eligibility.
  • Enrollment in late start courses may affect the timing of disbursement of Financial Aid. The Financial Aid Office must confirm attendance in late start courses prior to payment for those courses. Students enrolled in late start courses may have a delay in disbursement of federal Financial Aid.
  • Your eligibility cannot be determined until you are enrolled in classes for the summer semester
